Mr. Edward F. Drapalski Herkimer - Mr. Edward F. Drapalski, 82, of 314 Eastern Ave passed away Thursday, February 8, 2007 in Folts Home. He was born in Herkimer on January 29, 1925 the son of the late Joseph and the late Sophia Holynski Drapalski and he attended Herkimer schools. He served with the US Army Air Corps during World War II in the European Theater and was Honorably Discharged on October 5, 1945. Edward was the recipient of EAME Service Ribbon with 8 Bronze Stars, the Air Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters and the Purple Heart for wounds received in October of 1944. Mr. Drapalski was employed by Chicago Pneumatic, Utica for many years. He was a Communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church and a member of the V.F.W Post #4915, Herkimer. Edward is survived by two sisters in law, Anne Drapalski of Little Falls and Carolyn Drapalski of Stittville; a very special cousin, Nellie Crandall of Herkimer and her son, Gary Crandall and several nieces, nephews and cousins and many friends at the Herkimer OTB. He was predeceased by four brothers, Henry Drapalski, Anthony Drapalski, Walter Drapalski and Frank Drapalski and one sister, Mary Szklarz. His funeral will be held Monday morning at 9:00 am from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer and at 9:30 am in Sts. Anthony And Joseph Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by the Rev. Anthony Ligato, pastor. Spring interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling Hours will be Sunday from 4-7 at the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home. Contributions in Edward's memory may be made to Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church.
