Frankfort - Mrs. Phyllis Jones, 80, of 308 S. Litchfield St passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 in her home.
She was born in Frankfort, on July 3, 1928, the daughter of the late Jacob and Anna Cacciatore Costello and she attended Frankfort schools. She was married to Quentin W. Jones on December 16, 1969 in the Lutheran Church of Neptune City, New Jersey. Mr. Jones passed away on February 6, 1994. Phyllis was at one time employed by Oneida Knitting Mills and Frankfort Dress Factory. She was later employed as a Bookkeeper and Customer Service Manager for Shop-Rite Foodarama Supermarket, Inc., in Neptune City for eighteen years. She was a member of the Frankfort United Methodist Church, the UMWA, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Young at Heart Senior Citizens.
Phyllis is survived by one daughter, Marilyn Montague and Richard D'Andrea of Sacramento, CA; one son and daughter in law, James and Kathleen Montague of Frankfort; four grandchildren, Staci Lee Montague and her fiancé, James Primmer, James Montague, Ashley Montague and Nicholas Berry; one stepson and daughtersin law,Quentin and Jacquie Jones of Sumter, South Carolina; two step daughters and one son in law, Gwen and Robert Schwenck of Jobstown, New Jersey and Marlene Reed of Edenton, North Carolina; four step grandchildren, Robert and Elizabeth Schwenck and Raymond and Brian Jones; two great grandchildren, Shala Kristen and Elizabeth Rose; five sisters and two brothers in law, Mary Jackson of Frankfort, Carmel Jackson of Clayville, Eva Camerona of Yorkville, Frances and Gerald Roberts of Utica, and Irene and Jack Deveans of Utica and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Phyllis loved everyone. She was predeceased by one brother, Anthony, and one sister, Tina Costello.
Her funeral will be held Monday morning at 10:00 in Frankfort United Methodist Church, Acme Rd, Frankfort with the Rev. Robert Wollaber, pastor. Interment will be in Oak View Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4-8 at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. Members of the Young at Heart Senior Citizens will meet Sunday afternoon at 4:30 and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary at 4:45 at the funeral home for services.
