Frankfort - Mr. Joseph A. Spina, 82, of 142 Litchfield Rd passed away Friday, October 17, 2008 in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital. He was born in Frankfort on June 26, 1926, the son of the late John and Jennie Maphia Spina and he attended Frankfort schools. Mr. Spina was employed as an assembler for Library Bureau, Herkimer for many years. He was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church. Joseph is survived by one sister & brother in law, Mary & Lee Marcantonio of Utica; one brother & sister in law, Frank "Pop" & Thelma Spina of Frankfort; his sister in law, Frances Spina of Frankfort; his nephews and nieces, John & his wife, Nancy Spina of Frankfort, Anthony & his wife, Janet Spina of Utica, Jean & her husband, Doug Gaffney of New Hartford, Brian Marcantonio & his companion, Karen Ganci of Frankfort, Sue & her husband, Mark Lofstrom of Gibsonia, PA, Frank Spina of MD and Mark & his wife Vicky Spina of Frankfort; his very special cousin, Paul & his wife, Rose Maphia of New Hartford; very close friends, Joe & Barbara Bono and Dick & Rose Mary Myers of Frankfortand several great nieces, great nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by three brothers, John Spina, Paul Spina and Anthony Spina and one sister, Nina Spina. His funeral will be held Monday morning at 11:30 am in All Souls Chapel Of Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Elizabeth St. Frankfort where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by the Rev. Alfred Lamanna. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours. His funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort.
