Mr. John W. "Tweet" Golicki
Jordanville - Herkimer - Mr. John W. "Tweet" Golicki, 65, of 131 Main St, Jordanville formerly of Herkimer passed away Sunday, March 2, 2008 in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Herkimer on January 27, 1943, the son of the late Raymond and Mary Sinkiewicz Golicki. He attended Herkimer schools and graduated from Herkimer High School with the class of 1961. John served with the US Navy aboard the USS Lawrence and was Honorably Discharged on July 25, 1966. He was married to Donna Miller on September 30, 1972 in St. Joseph's Church, Herkimer. He was at one time employed by General Electric, Chicago Pneumatic and later for Duofold for many years. John and Donna were the owners and operators of Something Fishey, Main St, Herkimer. John resided in Herkimer all of his life except for the last 10 years when he relocated to Jordanville, where he enjoyed the country life. John had many bird feeders and particularly loved watching the humming birds, spring through summer. He was the family weather forecaster as he observed many weather stations. He loved to run radio controlled cars, reminiscing of the days he cruised around in his Shelby; but most of all he loved spending time with his "buddy" Kate. He'll be remembered as a kind and loving person and missed by all.
John is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Donna Golicki; two sons and one daughter in law, Raymond Golicki and his companion, Yvette of MO and Nicholas & Colleen Golicki of Ilion; one daughter, Jeanette Golicki of Columbia Center; his cherished grandchildren, Zack, Katelyn and John; his mother in law, Wealthy Wilson of Richfield Springs; his in laws, Paul Gage, Philip Gage and John & Carol Miller; his nephews and nieces, Billy, Joey, Sukie, Anna and Louisa and several cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, Dr William Golicki.
His funeral will be held Friday evening at 6:00 pm at the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer with the Rev. Thomas Trees, officiating. Calling hours will be Friday evening from 4-6 at the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home. John's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff of St. Luke's Memorial Hospital's CCU for the wonderful care, comfort and kindness shown to him during his stay and passing.
