Ilion - Mrs. Valerie E. Ulin, 68, of W. North St. passed away Sunday, August 28, 2011 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center.
Valerie was born in Ilion on June 28, 1943, the daughter of the late Joseph and Marietta Slocum Moreau and she attended Ilion schools. She was married to Richard Ulin on December 13, 1992 in Ilion. She was a member of the American Legion Post #920 Auxiliary and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #502 Auxiliary. She was a great lover of music and was often seen singing karaoke and dancing.
Valerie is survived by her husband, Richard Ulin; her step-father and very best friend, Michael Leonis of Ilion; two daughters, Jenny Everson of Ilion and Julie Everson and her companion, Deb Wiley of Ft. Edward; three sons and two daughters in law, Jeff and Bonnie Everson of Herkimer, Jamie and Maria Everson and Joseph Everson, all of Ilion; two sisters and one brother in law, Joanne Savicki of Frankfort and Dawn and Steve Cawley of Ilion; two brothers and one sister in law, Michael and Joanne Leonis of Ilion and Gary Moreau of FL; her grandchildren, Benjamin, Jeffrey, Skyler, Valerie, Jamie, Meretta, Haley, Breonna, Brian and Lacey; her great-grandchildren, Bryer, Ashante, Nataya, Rosealina, Marrell, Makenzie and Chloe and her beloved canine, Pookie.
Her funeral will be held Friday evening at 7:00 pm in the V.J.Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave Frankfort with the Rev. Eugene Kipper officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Armory Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 - 7 at the V.J.Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc.
