Obituary of Nancy Di Sano Christofaro

Elmira - FrankfortMrs. Nancy Mary Christofaro, 90, Elmira formerly of Frankfort passed away Thursday, October 1, 2009 in St. Joseph's Hospital.
She was born in Frankfort on June 20, 1919, the daughter of the late Nunzio and Mary Terzo Di Sano. She attended Frankfort schools and graduated from Frankfort High School with the class of 1937. She later attended and graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing, Elmira with the class of 1946 as a Registered Nurse. She was married to Joseph Christofaro on June 22, 1946 in Annunciation Church, Ilion. Mr. Christofaro passed away on May 2, 1994. Mrs. Christofaro was a Registered Nurse for St. Joseph's Hospital and later for Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Elmira for many years until her retirement in 1972. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and St Mary's Church, Elmira and a member of the Carmelite Order.
Nancy is survived by one son & daughter in law, Joseph & Janis Christofaro of FL; one daughter & son in law, Mary & Alan Lewis of Cornwall On The Hudson; her grandchildren, Dominic Christofaro, Joseph R L Christofaro, SrA Andrea & her husband, SrA Jason Rodriguez USAF, SrA Emily Christofaro USAF Amy E. Lewis and Elliott Lewis; two sisters & one brother in law, Rose Seppi of Herkimer and Violet & Joseph Di Maggio of Frankfort; her in law, Anthony & Sue Ellen Christofaro and Betty Christofaro all of Elmira and Frances Di Sano of Frankfort, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, 1st Lt Onofrio Di Sano USMC KIA WWll and Blase Di Sano.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 10:00 from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 10:30 in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the V.Rev. Anthony Barratt and assisted by Deacon James Bower. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 4-8 at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc.
