Frankfort - Utica - Mrs. Carmella Loiacano Frankfort - Utica - Mrs. Carmella Loiacano, 88, of 1226 Lenox Ave, Utica formerly of Sheldon Ave, Frankfort passed away Thursday, July 30, 2009 in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital. She was born in Rome on August 4, 1920, the daughter of the late Paul and Catherine Nardozza Colangelo and she attended Rome schools. She was married to Joseph J. Loiacano on November 24, 1938 in St John the Baptist Church, Rome. Mr. Loiacano passed away on October 13, 2003. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church. Carmella is survived by one son and daughter in law, Joseph & Jane Loiacano with whom she resided; her daughter in law, Patty Loiacano of Frankfort; six grandchildren, Paul & his wife, Rosalie Loiacano, Debbie Loiacano, Joseph & his wife, Karen Loiacano, Joseph Loiacano, Diana S. and her husband, Mahendra D. Thomas and Melissa Loiacano; her in laws, Carmella Micciche of Fontana, CA, Josephine Mezza, James Sgroi and Martha Loiacano all of Frankfort; six great grandchildren, Elaina Marie Loiacano, Katelyn Loiacano, Marissa Loiacano, Joseph Loiacano, Kadisha S. Thomas and Dante O. Thomas and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one son, Paul Butch Loiacano on August 25, 1980, three brothers, Angelo Colangelo, William Colangelo and Salvatore Colangelo and one sister, Jennie Domegal. Her funeral will be held Monday morning at 10:00 am from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 10:30 am in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Leo Potvin, assisted by Deacon James Bower. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4-7 at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc.
