Frankfort - Mrs. Mary G. Salvaggio, 87, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2014 in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital with her family by her side.
She was born in Frankfort on January 10, 1927, the daughter of the late Michael and Frances Abitabile DePalma and she attended Frankfort schools, graduating from Frankfort High School. She was married to Joseph L. Salvaggio on June 13, 1953 in St. Mary's Church. Joseph passed away on March 8, 1988. Mary was employed as a secretary for Univac in both the Ilion and Utica plants and later for MDS and she retired from Hamilton Digital in 1989. She was a very religious woman of deep faith and was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church. She was dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows and was a member of the Addolorata Society which was founded by her grandmother, Gabriella DePalma. Mary was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who always put her family first. Her greatest joy was having her family together and being able to share that joy with the love of her life, her husband Joe. Together they shared a forever kind of love- a love that will live on forever. Holidays were her favorite times- cooking, baking and sharing with family and friends. She loved her home and garden. Mary loved going to the casino and watching New York Yankees baseball with her family. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, she was always so supportive and so proud of them. Her memory will live on forever in the hearts of her family and wonderful friends. She has touched so many lives with love, kindness, caring and sharing. We will always remember her beautiful smile. We love you always.
Mary is survived by one daughter, Marilyn Salvaggio; one son and daughter in law, Joseph M. and Rosemarie Salvaggio all of Frankfort; two grandsons, Matthew Joseph and his wife, Nicole Salvaggio of Ilion and Daniel Joseph Salvaggio of Frankfort; two brothers in law, Frank G.
