Obituary of Robert G. LaValla

Frankfort - Mr. Robert G. LaValla, 66, of 118 N. Frankfort St. passed away peacefully on Friday, August 1, 2014 in his home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Ilion on July 8, 1948, the son of the late Earl and Jenny Sgroi LaValla and he attended Frankfort schools. He was married to MaryAnn Mannino in St. Mary's Church. Bobby was at one time employed by Nole Construction, Utica and was later Owner and Operator of Mr. L and Sons on Main St. in Frankfort for many years. He was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church. Bobby is survived by his beloved wife, MaryAnn LaValla; two sons, James LaValla and his companion, Heather Rauch and Francis LaValla, all of Frankfort; one sister and brother in law, Mary and John Pedone of Frankfort; three brothers and sisters in law, Anthony and Carolann LaValla and Joseph and Linda LaValla, all of Frankfort and Richard and Cindy LaValla of Trenton, GA; two aunts and one uncle, Mary Tesoriere of Frankfort and Rachel and Joseph Caiola of Little Falls; his dear friends, Pat Gatto, Frank Muto, Ricky Plano, Fran Barberio, Gary Grippe, Andy Convertino, Vic Tarris, Artie DeSarbo, the Crash Brothers, his close friend since the second grade, Gloria Skowron, his canine companion, Bailey and many nieces, nephews and cousins. His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:30 AM from the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 10:00 AM in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Paul Catena. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday evening from 4-8 at V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. Bobby's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the nurses, doctors and staff of St. Luke's CCU, ICOU, 6th floor, his special angel Dena DiMartin, the Hospice nurses and Joe Malorzo for the kindness and compassion shown to him during his illness and passing.
