Herkimer - Mrs. Jennie M. Fasolilli, 94 years, of 121 W. Steele St. passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2017 in Little Falls Hospital. At the time of her passing she was surrounded with the love and support of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was born on Monday, September 3, 1923 in Herkimer, the daughter of the late Simon and Angelina Minnitti and she attended Herkimer schools. Jennie was married to Fernando "Red" Fasolilli on September 2, 1950 in St. Anthony's Church by the Rev. Gustav Purficato. The two shared a blessed union of 54 years until Red's passing on October 13, 2004. Together they raised three children, Janice, Maryann and Alexander. Jennie worked in several area restaurants including her brother, Chris Kinney's restaurant, Big Bill's Grill, S. Washington St., Herkimer. She was later employed as a Cook at Mohawk Homestead for many years until her retirement in 1985. She was a devout Catholic and was an active communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church.

Jennie is survived by her son and daughter in law, Alex and Linda Fasolilli of Herkimer; one daughter, Mary Ann Ruggerio of Herkimer; her sons in law, John Szuba and Richard Ruggerio both of Herkimer; one sister, Mary Natarelli of Little Falls; her grandchildren, Joanne and her husband, Ryan De Mars, Jessica and her husband, James Dygert , Christopher Ford and his wife, Vickie, Jennifer Szuba, Carolyn Ruggerio and her fiancé, Philip Arcuri, Erin and her husband, Justin Fitch; her great-grandchildren, Nicholas Fernando and Julian Ford, Megan Szuba, Michael and Anthony De Mars, Sofia Dygert, Isabella Arcuri and Dylan and Aiden LaVenture; her in-laws, Mary Dawidowicz and Gilda and Robert Murphy, all of Herkimer; special dear friends,  Mary Sanganetti and Rosemarie Lamonte who were like family to her and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter, Janice Szuba on December 13, 2013; three sisters, Victoria Surace, Josephine Kinney and Catherine Filippi and one brother, Christopher Kinney.


Her funeral will be held on Monday, October 16th at 8:30 AM from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St., Herkimer, and at 9:00 AM in Sts. Anthony & Joseph Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Quy Vo. Interment will be Calvary Cemetery. Calling Hours will be held on Sunday, October 15th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM in the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home.

Jennie's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Drs. Berry, Handy and Freund and nurses, Mike, Angela, Erin and Mindy and the entire nursing staff of Little Falls Hospital for the wonderful care and kindness shown to her during her stay and passing.
