Alice May Leitz

Frankfort - Alice May Leitz, 92 years, of 165 McIntyre Rd passed away on Monday December 18, 2017 in VHS with her family by her side.

She was born on Monday July 20, 1925 on Frankfort Hill the daughter of Samuel and Cora Inman Edwards. She attended Utica schools and graduated from Proctor High School with the class of 1943. Alice was married to John "Laddie Leitz on September 4, 1945 in a civil ceremony at the home of her sister Ethel Hayes on Frankfort Hill. Laddie passed away on April 3, 1997. 
Alice was Clerical at Observer Dispatch, Utica and was a waitress at the Utica Mannechor for many years. Alice and Laddie were the owners and operators of the family farm and Frankfort Highland Airport for the 45 years of its operation.

Alice is survived by her daughter and son in law, Linda and Alex Fasolilli of Herkimer; her daughter in law, Barbara Leitz Slank of Syracuse; her grandchildren, Brenda Dennis, John Leitz, Cory and his wife, Sherri Leitz, Erin and her husband, Justin Fitch and Aisha and her husband, Stephen Gillett; several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her two sons, Thomas A. Leitz in 1985 and John E. Leitz in 2005; her great grandson, Travis T. Leitz in 2009; two brothers, Harry Edwards and Roger Edwards and three sisters, Ethel Hayes, Anna Christensen and Grace Castello.

Her funeral will be held at a later date with interment in Frankfort Hill Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Alice's memory may be made to MVCC Aircraft and Power plant Technology Scholarship, 1101 Sherman Drive, Utica, NY 13501. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

Her funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the V.J.Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. Frankfort.
