Florence C. Caliguire

Herkimer - Florence C. Caliguire, 93, of Herkimer, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Homelife at Folts.

She was born in Herkimer on January 14, 1925, the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Mascara Caliguire. Florence attended Herkimer Schools and graduated from Herkimer High School. During Florence’s youth she was involved in the family business, Caliguire and Sons, Herkimer. She was employed in the Accounts Payable Department of M.D.S. in Herkimer for many years. She was a communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church and a volunteer at the Food Pantry.

Florence is survived by her sister Laura Caliguire; two brothers and one sister in law, Victor Caliguire and Mario and Rebecca Caliguire; her nieces and nephews, Fran Barbuto and Rosanne Swift, Joe and Jenny Barbuto, Peter and Cathy Caliguire, Adele and Jack Aiello, James and Martha Caliguire, Robb and Suzanne Caliguire, Rosemary Caliguire and her fiancée, Greg, Donna and Santo LaMarco, Marc Caliguire and his fiancé Patricia, Christopher and Shaune Caliguire, Tom and Cristel Caliguire and many great-great nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly. She was predeceased by three brothers, Peter and his wife, Olga Caliguire, Joe, Jr. and Genevieve Caliguire and Carl Caliguire; one sister, Carrie and her husband, Joe Barbuto and her sister in law, Isabella Caliguire.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 10:15 AM from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer and at 11:00 AM in Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, 229 S. Main St. Herkimer where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Quy Vo. Spring interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday evening from 4-7 in the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home.
