Mrs. Theresa Tangorra
Herkimer – Mrs. Theresa Tangorra, 76, of Herkimer, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at home with her family by her side.
She was born in Herkimer on January 18, 1942, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Principe Rondinelli. She graduated from Herkimer High School with the class of 1959. She went on to attend Utica School of Beauty Culture where she obtained her Cosmetology License. She was married to Richard Tangorra on May 28, 1966 in St. Anthony's Church. Dick passed away on August 17, 1994. Theresa was employed by Griffiss Air Force Base, the American Cancer Society and later as the Herkimer County Commissioner of Jurors for many years until her retirement on November 24, 2012. Theresa was a communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church and St. Francis De Sales and a member of the Red Hat Society, Christian Women’s Club, Catholic Charities, Volunteer for the Republican Party, Lions Club, St. Anthony's Jail Ministry, Redeemer Church and Veterans Council. She loved to travel, socializing with her friends and especially being a wonderful grandmother to her grandchildren.
Theresa is survived by three sons and two daughters in law, Chad and Julie Tangorra of West Winfield, Brad and Crystal Tangorra of Phoenix and Justin Tangorra of Latham; five grandchildren, Julia Tangorra, Jonah Tangorra, Jacob Tangorra, Ella Tangorra and Celia Tangorra; her in laws, Lester Lemik, Bella Aiello, Lucy Morello, Janet and Bill Palmieri, Palma and David Colenzo, Michael and Joan Tangorra, Philip and Elizabeth Tangorra, Cathy and Frank Barrett, Paul Zito, Anita Martin and Harriett Tangorra and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, James Rondinelli, Joseph Rondinelli and one sister, Marlene Lemik.
Her funeral will be held Monday morning at 10:00 in St. Francis De Sales Church, N. Bellinger St., Herkimer, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the V. Rev. Mark Cunningham, pastor. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday afternoon from 1:00 – 4:00 PM at the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. 203 Second Ave., Frankfort, Herkimer Vets will do a service at 2:15 PM. Her funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home.
Theresa’s children would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Harriett Tangorra and Philomena Tripolone for always being there for her and to her caregiver, Jody Ingraham for her loving care shown.
