Mrs. Katherine E. Ruszala

 

Frankfort – Mrs. Katherine E. Ruszala, 50, of Frankfort, passed away Monday, December 31, 2018 at home with her family by her side.

 

She was born in New Hartford on March 31, 1968, the daughter of the late William B. and Patricia Morgan Taylor. She attended New Hartford schools and later MVCC and Utica College.

She was married to John Ruszala on August 5, 1995 at the Red Lion in Kirkland. Katherine was a Server for The Willows and Acacia Village.  Kate was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and a member of FSCS PTO and HC Board of Elections. She loved going to Cape Cod and helping others, especially making cookies and giving of herself. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her children.

 

Katherine is survived by her beloved husband, John Ruszala; her children, Hannah Ruszala of Syracuse, Ethan Ruszala, Ben Ruszala and Zoe Ruszala, all at home; her sister and brother in law, Lynn and Clifford Force of New Hartford; her father in law and mother in law, Walter and Ruth Ruszala of Frankfort; her brothers in law, Steven Ruszala and Matt Ruszala; one aunt, Dolores Owen of New Hartford; nephews and nieces, Clifford Force, Lily Force, Stephanie and her husband, Dan Winn and Nick Ruszala; her Godfather, Bob Owens; her Godmother, Michaela Knapp and several cousins and friends.                            

 

Her funeral will be held Friday, January 4, 2019 at 11:00 in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 1736 Burrstone Rd., New Hartford where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Joseph Salarno. Calling hours will be Thursday evening from 5-8 pm at the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. 203 Second Avenue, Frankfort.

 

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Katherine's memory may be made to her children's college fund, in care of their father, John Ruszala. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
