Frankfort - Mr. Dominick A. Minosh, Jr., 100, of 340 Fifth Ave. passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at home with his family by his side.
He was born in Frankfort on September 11, 1915, the son of the late Dominick and Rosalie Loma Minosh, Sr. and he attended Ilion Schools. He served with the Army Air Corps during World War II in Africa and the European Theater with the 303 Bomb Squadron and was Honorably Discharged on September 11, 1945 with the rank of Sergeant. He was married to Carmelina Norod on November 24, 1949 in St. Mary's Church. Dominick was employed as a Tool and Die Maker for Univac at their Ilion Plant for over 40 years and later for MDS. He was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and a 71 year member of Ilion Elks BPOE Lodge #1444. He was very active with the Frankfort Youth Association and the Boy Scouts.
Dominick is survived by his beloved wife, Carmelina; one son, Donald Minosh of Frankfort; one daughter, Rosemary Minosh of Herkimer; two sisters in law, Catherine Norod of Herkimer and Elizabeth Norod of Ohio; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by five sisters, Grace Yots, Jennie Yots, Florence Kinney, Anna Terras and Mary Foglino and four brothers, Joseph Minosh, Frank Minosh, Charles Minosh and Anthony Minosh.
His funeral will be held Monday morning at 10:30 AM in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, S. Frankfort St., Frankfort where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Paul Catena. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours. His funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your local Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the church vestibule.
Dominick's family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. David Liu and staff, his niece Mary Ellen, his Home Health Aide Becky for many years for all their acts of kindness shown to him during his illness and passing.
