Obituary of Cynthia Marie Joseph
Cynthia M. Joseph
Frankfort - Cynthia M. Joseph, 61 years old, passed away on December 9, 2021 at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse due to complications from Parkinson’s. Cindy resided at the Presbyterian Nursing Home in New Hartford, NY since 2018 and was there during the worst of the Pandemic.
She was born in Utica on February 29, 1960 the daughter of the late Abraham and Ann Cully Joseph. She attended Clinton schools and graduated from Clinton High School with the class of 1978. She had a long, successful career at Price Chopper, New Hartford and enjoyed all the people that her job allowed her to meet. Rarely did she go anywhere without someone coming up to her and asking “didn’t you work at Price Chopper”?
She lived life to the fullest with her partner Ron Covey by her side for the past 31 years. She met Ron in her early twenties while attending BOCES and they spent the next several years traveling extensively. They went on camping trips to Green Lakes, and the Adirondacks. They flew to Hawaii, Jamaica, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Disney Orlando and Nashville. They took cruises to St. Thomas, Tortola, (largest of the British Virgin Isles) Key West, and The Bahamas. They did bus trips to NYC, Canada, Washington DC, Martha’s Vineyard, Provincetown MA, and Pennsylvania Amish Country. She was an active member of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and volunteered in the office and church.
Cindy is survived by her life partner, Ron Covey and his mother Marge and sister Kim of Frankfort; her sisters and brothers in law, Sheryl O’Roark and husband, Jack of Kansas City MO, Michele Hughes and husband Pat of Carrollton, TX, and Carol Brown of Manlius; her sister-in-law, Jan Joseph of Leesburg, VA and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Cindy is predeceased by her parents Abraham and Ann Joseph of Kirkland, NY and her brother Christopher Joseph of Leesburg, VA.
