Herkimer - Mrs. Helen Macrina, 87, of 617 Park Lane Dr. passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013 in Highlands Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation center at the Oaks on Parkwood with her family by her side. She was born in Herkimer on March 5, 1925, the daughter of the late Michael and Anna Mazurak Kryniak. She attended Herkimer Schools and graduated from Herkimer High School. She was at one time employed by Univac and later as a hair stylist in Herkimer at Pauline's Beauty Salon for many years. She was married to Ezzio Bim Macrina on August 9, 1947 in Herkimer. She attended Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, Herkimer. Helen is survived by her beloved husband, Ezzio Bim Macrina; son and daughter in law, Dr. David and his wife, Nancy Macrina of Alabama; one granddaughter, Kimberly Tingle; one grandson, Daniel Macrina; one great granddaughter, Abigail Tingle and several nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Mary Paslow, Ann Kryniak and Stella Kryniak and one brother, Nicholas Kryniak. Her funeral will be held Wednesday evening at 7:00 in the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer with Deacon Ronald St. Marie officiating. Spring interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4-7 in the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial in Sts.
