Frankfort - In loving memory of Arlene J (Gauthier) Maneen, age 91, who passed peacefully in her sleep on Monday, January 10, 2022, at The Grand Rehabilitation & Nursing at Mohawk Valley, where she has resided for the past two years.
Born on September 15, 1930, Arlene was the daughter of the late Lawrence Gauthier and Helen (Wegrzyn) Gauthier. Arlene was raised and educated in Utica and graduated from Utica Free Academy in 1948. On April 24, 1954, Arlene was married to Vincent P. Maneen, at St. Joseph’s Church in Utica, New York, and together they shared a blessed union of 64 years, until Vinny’s passing on October 4, 2018. Arlene worked for Hospital Plan Inc., Utica, NY, for several years and then alongside her husband at Vinny’s Market until their retirement. Arlene was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, Frankfort, NY.
Arlene was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother. She absolutely loved and cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also known as the “Neighborhood Mom” to the children who lived on the “reservation” when they were growing up. Arlene was able to spend time last summer with her family, and was so happy to meet and hold her newborn great- grandchildren, which brought her much joy. She enjoyed traveling with Vinny to Nashville, Las Vegas, Florida and Atlantic City.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Vincent and Marilyn Maneen of Whitesboro; Daniel and Mary Maneen of Sherrill; John and Kim Maneen of Frankfort; and Richard and Peggy Maneen, of Frankfort. She is also survived by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves one sister, Beatrice Rabbia, and her husband, Thomas; her in laws, Raymond Paciello, Donna Gauthier, Joseph and Peggy Maneen and Thomas and Liz Maneen and Clara Maneen. Besides her parents, Arlene was predeceased by her sisters, Marie Bonafardeci, and her husband, Leo; Doris Austin and Laura Paciello, and by her two brothers, Sylvester Gauthier, and Louis Gauthier and his wife Mary.
In keeping with Arlene’s wishes, there will be no public calling hours.
