Utica - Bernardo Rios, 68, of Utica passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2022 in St. Luke´s Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.

 

He was born in Rome, New York on September 12, 1953, the son of the late Fausto and Isabelle Nava Rios Colon and he attended Utica schools. He served during Vietnam War in the US Marine Corps from October 7, 1971 to July 12, 1973.He served with the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and was Honorably Discharged on July 12, 1973.  Bernardo was a self-employed mechanic throughout the Utica area for many years. He was a communicant of Historic Old St. John's Church, Utica. 

 

Bernardo is survived by one daughter, Billy Jo Sutton; four brothers, Fausto and his wife, Susan Rios of Utica, Louis and his wife, Kathleen Rios of Florida, Felix Rios and his companion, Mary of Utica and Angel Rios of Rome; two sisters,  Emilia Santiago and Christina Santiago  both of Utica and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Victor Manuel Rios. 

 

His funeral will be held at the convenience of the family. His funeral arrangements are under the direction of the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. 203 Second Avenue, Frankfort.
