Peter S. Carlesimo
Frankfort - Mr. Peter S. Carlesimo, age 79 of Frankfort, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 10, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Utica, NY, on September 18, 1943, the son of Peter and Vita (Sgroi) Carlesimo. On July 25, 1964, Peter was joined in marriage to Sharon (Bennett) at St. Mary’s Church, Frankfort, a union of 58 years. Peter attended Utica schools. He worked construction and an array of other trades. Peter owned and operated the Carlesimo Gulf Stations on both Main Street and on Acme Road. He was a Police Officer for the Village of Frankfort and a truck driver for Mohawk Metals. He was the Proprietor of The Village Bar in Frankfort, Pete’s Lounge on Herkimer Road and Pete’s Lounge in Frankfort. For many years, he was a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Town of Frankfort. Peter was a member of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church. He was a member of the Frankfort PBA, Frankfort Fire Department and the St. Francis DePaolo Society.
Peter is survived by his beloved wife Sharon: His children: Gina Carlesimo (Bill Flinchum) of Oxford, MI, Peter F. and his wife Michelle Carlesimo of Frankfort, Roxanne and her husband Nelson Gillen of Frankfort, Stephen L. (Siobhan Nelson) Carlesimo of Schuyler; Grandchildren: Bradley Horst and Mitchell Horst, Jenna Carlesimo, Ashlee (Jonathan) Hoffman and Peter A. Carlesimo, Andrew Gillen, Aaron Gillen, Jarred Gillen, Molly Carlesimo; Great-Grandchild: Liam Hoffman. His beloved canine companion Bella. Sister: LouAnn (Robert Croessmann) Elsaesser; In-Laws: Terry Carlesimo, Jeanne Ganey, Raymond and Sandy Bennett, John and Kathy Gardner and Liz Bennett; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Peter was predeceased by his son Robert Carlesimo; his parents Peter and Vita Carlesimo; his brother Joseph Carlesimo; father -in-law and mother-in-law Robert and Virginia Bennett; his In-laws Bertha Bennett, Robert Bennett, Earle Bennett and Robert Elsaesser.
His funeral will be held Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 9:45 AM from the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Avenue, Frankfort, NY and at 10:30 AM in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, South Frankfort Street, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Reverend Paul Catena. Spring interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc.
Members of the St. Francis Society will meet Wednesday at 7:00 PM, the Frankfort Fire Department and the Frankfort Police at 7:30 PM at the funeral home for services
