Mrs Eleanor R. Scalise

Herkimer-Mrs. Eleanor R. Scalise, 89, of Herkimer passed away Sunday, December 11, 2022 in Little Falls Hospital with her family by her side.

She was born in Frankfort, New York on August 1, 1933, the daughter of the late Frank and Zayda Blunt Fragale She attended Mohawk schools and graduated from Mohawk High School with the class of 1951. Eleanor was married to Edward Scalise on July 31, 1961 in St. Anthony's Church. Edward passed away on October 13, 2010. Eleanor was employed as an Executive Secretary for Univac, Ilion and later MDS, Herkimer.  Eleanor was a communicant of St. Francis DeSales Church and a member of East Herkimer Senior Citizens She was a volunteer at Food Pantry. Following Ed and Eleanor’s retirement moved to Florida before returning to Herkimer. 

 Eleanor is survived by several beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.                                        

She was predeceased by one sister, Jeanette Smithson.
 Her funeral will be held Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 11:00 AM in St. Francis De Sales Church, N. Bellinger St Herkimer where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Thomas Babiuch. Spring interment will be in Armory Hill Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to MOVAC,15 State Rte 5S, Mohawk, NY 13407 or East Herkimer Fire Department 193 Main Rd, Herkimer, NY 13350. Envelopes will be available at the church Saturday.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home 329 S. Washington St., Herkimer, NY. .
