I am humbly grateful for the opportunity to be a part of Nana's family for the past ten years or so. Truly a wonderful woman, kind-hearted, joyful, loving, and vibrant, she will remain a blessing for all that knew her. Julie and I visited her on Thanksgiving, and I will never forget the last words she and I spoke. I gave her a kiss and told her that I loved her very much, and she looked up at me, took my hand, smiled and said, "you two are perfect together." Kinder, sweeter words have never been spoken to me, and it meant the world. Even on that difficult day, she still showed such love and kindness, and that is something that will remain in my heart forever. Thank you for welcoming me into your beautiful family, Nana.

Aunt Martha has always been such a light in the world! From the time I was little she always had this magical way to make me feel safe, loved, understood, and important. After big mama (her sister Susie) passed away I was only 8 but she made sure I knew I was never without her and gave me the most special necklace I have which was hers. I can still picture that day like it was yesterday. When my son was born I made sure we came up to see her as soon as he was born and the amount of joy that she radiated was unlike any other. After such a long and beautiful life you deserve a nice rest. You’ve always been the light in this dark world and I hope more then anything that I can live out that light and show my kids the love and joy you’ve taught me. Always and forever in my heart!
