Sherry Ann Lawrence
Herkimer - Sherry Ann Lawrence, 77, of Herkimer passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2023, in Valley Health Services with her family by her side.
Sherry was born in Utica, New York, on October 1, 1945, the daughter of Edward (aka Danny Boy) and Marjorie Griffin Shaw. She attended Utica schools. She was married to Frank Lawrence on April 10, 1964. Frank passed away on April 11, 2014, after a blessed union of 50 years. Sherry was the owner and operator of My Gal Sal, Herkimer, for many years. She was well known for her crafts and painting skills. Her favorite moments were spent with her children and grandchildren.
Sherry is survived by her mother, Marjorie Shaw; her children, Michele Lawrence (Maryann), Frank (Kimberlee) Lawrence, Linda Lawrence, Joseph (Janne) Lawrence, Hope (Brian) Bennett, Jason (Elizabeth) Lawrence; her cherished grandchildren, Jessica (Carlos), Nicole (Sean), Tiffany, Teddy, Kayla (Cyrus), Joseph, Jennifer (Brett), Dylan (Kayla), Randy, Tyra, Emilee (Daniel), Christopher, Shawn (Alba), Reese, Jaiden, Fin, Cassidy, Charlie; twenty-two great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; her brothers, Gary Guidera, Joseph Guidera, George Guidera and Danny Blair; her sisters, Joanne (Fran) Suppa, Caroline (Barry) Brown, Nancy Sportello, and Donna (Jim) Shaw; sisters-in-law Lillian Price and Patricia Lawrence; a very special nephew, Codie Lawrence and many special nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Lawrence; father, Edward Blair; great granddaughter, Maddie; brothers, Billy Shaw and Tommy Guidera; her grandmother, Margarete Papa; brothers-in-law Gene Lawrence, Bruce Lawrence, Glen Lawrence and William Price; and a very special friend, Charlotte Price.
Her funeral will be held later this spring in Armory Hill Cemetery. There are no public calling hours. Her funeral arrangements are under the direction of the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. 203 Second Avenue, Frankfort.
Sherry’s family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff of Valley Health Services, especially her special caregivers, Missy and Julie, for the wonderful care and compassion during her stay and passing.
