Alice J. Aiello Vedovati
Herkimer - Mrs. Alice J. Aiello Vedovati, 101, of Herkimer passed away Sunday, May 21, 2023, with her family by her side.
She was born in St. Johnsville, New York on August 6, 1921, the daughter of the late Virginio and Theresa Mastracco Colorito and she attended St. Johnsville schools. Alice was married to Anthony Aiello on November 11, 1945 in St. Patrick's Church, St. Johnsville. Anthony passed away on April 5, 1990. She was later married to John Vedovati in Florida. John Passed away on January 16, 2012. Alice was a Sales Clerk for Jack's Jewelers, Herkimer, NY, for many years until her retirement in 1986. She was a communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church and a member of St. Anthony's Crusaders Auxiliary and served as a Past President, Herkimer VFW Auxiliary, 3rd Order of St. Francis, Tony R George Auxiliary and served as a Past President, Sons of Italy, Utica Ladies Moose Club, St. Petersburg, Fl.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Antonia "Toni" Reiter and her fiancée, Ronald Anderson of Cannon Falls, MN; one granddaughter, Christine Carpenter of Utica; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Eleanor Battisti of St. Johnsville and Mary Jane & John Scialdone of Delray Beach, FL; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her special card-party friends.
She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Vernon Reiter; step-daughter, Annette Carpenter; two brothers, Joseph Colorito and CPL James Colorito KIA US Army WWll and two sisters, Ruby Dinehart and Delores Ferguson.
Her funeral will be held Thursday, July 13, 2023, at 10:00 AM in Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, S. Main St., Herkimer, NY, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Thomas Babiuch. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, July 13th from 9am in the church vestibule until the time of mass.
Her funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home 329 S. Washington St., Herkimer, NY.
