Frank G. Moracco

Frankfort – Mr. Frank G. Moracco, 98, of Frankfort passed away Friday, November 3, 2023 in Foltsbrook. He was born in Utica, NY on January 13, 1925, the youngest of nine children.  He was the son of the late Francesco and Francesca Amelia Moracco.  He was raised and educated in the Utica School System.  He entered the US Army, serving his country in World War II in the European Theater.  He was the recipient of the Purple Heart for injuries sustained on December 15, 1944 and three Bronze Stars.

On July 1, 1950, at St. Mary's Church, Frankfort, he was united in marriage to Molly DePalma, the love of his life.  Molly passed away on October 9, 2006, and a piece of his heart went with her that day and the family is comforted knowing they are united again in Heaven.  For many years, until his retirement, he worked at Griffiss AFB.  He was a parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Apostles, Frankfort, where he served as usher for many years, a member of the Frankfort American Legion Post 845, the DAV and Addolorata Society.  He was a long-time coach in the Frankfort Community.  He was one of the men responsible for bringing Pop Warner Football to the youth of Frankfort and one of the "original" chain-gang crew for the FSCS Knights.  He coached Frankfort Pop Warner Football, youth baseball and CYO basketball for many years and was loved and respected by all his players and fellow coaches.  Frank loved the game of golf and golfed to the age of 92.  On August 5, 1986, he scored a hole-in-one at Pine Hills Golf Course.  He was a loyal fan of the NY Yankees and the NY Giants and loved going to the casino with his children.

His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy.  His greatest love was love of family.  You will always remain in our hearts forever.  We love you always.

Frank is survived by his children, daughter Frances Moracco Bryant and son and daughter-in-law Frank and Debbie Moracco.  His grandchildren Jonathan (Kelly) Bryant, Frank (Andrew) Moracco, and Jamie Moracco Viola.  His great grandchildren who he cherished and adored, Brenden, Griffin and Caden Bryant and John and Emma Viola.  He leaves five generations of many loving nieces and nephews, many godchildren and many special friends who were like family.

Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his mother-in-law and father-in-law Frances and Michael DePalma; three brothers, Sam (Margaret) Moracco, Angelo (Ann) Moracco and Joe (Helen) Moracco; five sisters, Mary (Sam) Cipriano, Theresa (John) Fillipelli, Grace (Peter) DeFiore, Carmella (Joe) Vendetti, and Bessie (Frank) Notaro; sister-in-law Mary (Joe) Salvaggio and the many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
