I remember going out to visit grandma MJ when I was about six. Mom and dad were with me. We had dinner at grandma MJ‘s and I accidentally spilled my water. She went in the kitchen and came out with a sippy cup for like a two year old! I didn’t find it funny back then, but now we laugh about it because when grandma came to visit us, she spilled her drink at a restaurant too. I wish I had a sippy cup to give her that day. Anyway, I’m so thankful to have been given her car. I even named it sippy cup because it’s good on gas.

The memory I have of grandma MJ that stands out the most was her baking. We always knew there would be Jewish coffee cake waiting for us when we would go out to visit. She made other delicious food but the Jewish coffee cake seemed to be everyone’s favorite. I’m so thankful to have been given the recipe and will continue the tradition for our family gatherings.

I would like to honor Mom by sharing some memories that have recently flooded my mind since her passing. Yes, her 3 boys were top on her list, but she rose to the occasion and filled in for me as Mom when Rick and I were going to get married and my Mother was unable to fill her role due to my Fathers terminal illness.
She went dress shopping with me. I liked the first dress I tried on. It was country style and a great price. Mom insisted that I didn’t settle and encouraged me to try on more. The perfect dress was much more expensive with many tiny buttons down the back.
On the morning of the wedding I opened my eyes and saw my beautiful dress glistening in the sunlight. Mom had snuck in that night and placed it where I would see it first thing. That was special. She patiently buttered each button for me and fussed till it was just right. Thanks Mom for being there for me.
I remember you sticking up for me when Rick and I had an argument. You listened to his side but then said “ Rick, I know how you can be.” I was shocked and grateful. Thanks Mom for being there for me.
Mom cuddled Miranda and watched the fireworks. They were so cute together that Rick and I watched them more than the fire works display.
Mom came and helped when Vinny was born and several times more as the kids grew.
She said I could sleep and she would take the night feeding for Vinny. She packed his little belly full of oatmeal till he could barely move. Three hours later, right on schedule he was awake and ready to be fed again. I remember Mom saying. “ there is no rhyme or reason to what he does. And we laughed.
So many more memories I could share and as time goes on, I’m sure even more will surface. I love you, Mom, thanks for being there.

Anyone that spent time with our mom knew that “her three boys” were her pride and joy. Not because we were so perfect in every way, but because her motherly love wouldn’t have it any other way.
You did a great job mom. Thank you for NEVER giving up on us and always keeping us in your prayers. We are so much better off for it.

I did not know you Mary, but I’m blessed to know your son, Pastor Jay and his special family. You have instilled the love of the Lord in their hearts and they in turn have done the same for me. Thank you Mary.

To all those Valley Voices for Christ choir members and Maryjane's beloved family, I want to express my deepest sorrow for Maryjane's passing. As bel;ievers in the promises of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we know she is with HIm, now. I have wonderful memories of our many rehearsals and performances with the choir. Maryjane and her late husband Gary were dedicated to spreading the Gospel through our music. We enjoyed the laughter and fellowship during this wonderful time. I sure do miss it. May she rest in peace.
