Edith L. Buffalohead
Frankfort - Edith L. Buffalohead, 72, of Frankfort passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2023 in Wynn Hospital with her family by her side.
She was born in Utica, New York on August 5, 1951, the daughter of the late Almon and Edith Cort Waitt. She attended Frankfort schools and graduated from Frankfort Schuyler High school with the class of 1969. She continued her education and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Eisenhower College in 1973. She was at one time married to Rene Buffalohead. Edith was at one time employed by Library Bureau and Utica Boiler as a Sales and Marketing Director and later as Program Specialist for American Red Cross, Utica for many years. She was a communicant of St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church, Ilion, a member of the Fortnightly Club, President of the Frankfort Free Library. Edith was very inspirational during the successful renovation of the library in recent years.
Edith is survived by her son and daughter in law, Dr. Bret and his wife, Dr. Nicci Buffalohead of Houston TX.; two brother and one sister in law, Walter Waitt of Utica and Edward and his wife, Cynthia Waitt of Fairfield CA; her grandchildren, Jaxon, Parker and Charlee; her nieces, Sarah Quinn and Rebecca Waitt; her great nieces and great nephews, Kiera Quinn, Olivia Waitt and Micah Waitt and several cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Stephen Waitt.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 10:30 in Forest Hill Cemetery, with Father Steve Scarcia. Her funeral arrangements are under the direction of the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. 203 Second Avenue, Frankfort.
Edith's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to their neighbor, Stephanie Rauscher for all her support and compassion during her illness.
