John R. Webster

Ilion - John R. Webster, 76, of Ilion passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024, in Wynn Hospital with his family by his side.

He was born in Herkimer, New York, on June 15, 1948, the son of the late John and the late Ethel Loonis Webster.  He attended Herkimer schools and graduated from Herkimer High School. He later attended and graduated from Indiana University with a Master's Degree in Marketing and Finance in 1976.  

He was married to Dawn Skinner on August 12, 1972, in Little Falls. John was the owner and operator of Entel Data Forms, Main St., Frankfort, NY.  He was a former member of the Starlighters and was a skilled bagpiper. He was a member of the Mohawk Valley Frasier’s, winning many awards and loved to teach bagpiping. He enjoyed model airplanes and salmon fishing.

John is survived by his beloved wife, Dawn; one brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Maureen Webster of Ilion, NY; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Cheri and Mike Pratt of Mohawk, NY, and Lori and Art Nemyj of Herkimer, NY, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

His funeral will be held Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 11:00am in the Armory Hill Cemetery, Benedict Ave., Ilion. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. 203 Second Avenue, Frankfort. NY.
