Herkimer - Clara D. Terrell, 96, of Herkimer passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024 in Wynn Hospital with her family by her side.

 

She was born in Herkimer, New York on January 2, 1928, the daughter of the late Gregory and Barbara Macri Cortese She attended Herkimer schools and graduated from Herkimer High School. She was married to Jack Terrell on November 27, 1954 in St. Anthony's Church, Herkimer. Clara was employed by Chet's Lunch, Herkimer for many years. She was a devout catholic and a communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church and a member of Crafty Ladies. 

 

Clara is survived by her beloved husband, Jack; one son and daughter in law, Scott and Stacey Terrell of Baldwinsville NY; one daughter and son in law, Jackie and Andrew Hobika of Clinton NY; one step-son, Perry Terrell, of Alabama; her grandchildren and great grandchildren who were the apple of her eye, Kayla and her husband, Daniel Sheridan, Kyle and his wife, Catherine Terrell, Kelsey Terrell, Marissa Hobika, Andrew Hobika Jr., Matthew Hobika and Alexis Hobika, her cherished great grandchildren, Jack Sheridan,  Shea Sheridan, Ava Terrell, Teddy Terrell and Parker Terrell and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph Cortez and Frank "Corkey" Cortez and two sisters, Catherine Jess and Mary Sanguine.

 

Her funeral will be held Sunday, December 22, 2024 at 1:30 PM in Sts. Anthony & Joseph Church, South Main St., Herkimer where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Thomas Babiuch. Spring interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours.

 

Her funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, Herkimer, NY.
