Mohawk - Mrs. Bea E. Mosseau, 78, of 14 Devendorf St. passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2012 in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital with her family by her side.
She was born in Northville, NY on August 11, 1934, the daughter of the late Victor and May Cramer Olmstead and she graduated from Northville Schools with the class of 1951. She was married to Richard Mosseau on December 27, 1952 in South Church, Utica. Throughout her life, Bea was employed as a Secretary at the New York State Office Building, the Herkimer Central School District, and later at the Herkimer County Office Building until her retirement in 1998. She was a very active member of her church, having served on the board of stewards, teaching Sunday school, assisting with the mid-week children's program, as well as being part of the women's missionary organization and the music program.
Bea is survived by her beloved husband, Richard Mosseau; four daughters and sons in law, Faith and her husband, David Turner of Colonie, Joy Mosseau of Queensbury, Hope and her husband, Donny Stewart of St. Johnsville and Jill and her husband, Michael Dinsmore of Queensbury; five grandchildren, Luke Mosseau, Courtney Turner, Claire Turner, Emma Dinsmore and Madelyn Dinsmore; four sisters, Martha Edwards of Gloversville, Ruth and her husband Bruce Hallenbeck of Cleveland, Helen and her husband, Dave Horner of Fredericksburg, VA and Mary Lou and her husband, Jonathan Hunter of Glens Falls; two brothers, Donald Olmstead of Northville, Robert Olmstead and his wife Gail of Melborne, FL; and several aunts, one uncle, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her sister Hilda and brother, David.
Her funeral will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 AM in Oak Ridge Free Methodist Church, W. German ST. Herkimer with Rev. Christopher Schumske, Pastor officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday, October 26 from 4-7 PM at Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home 329 S. Washington St, Herkimer.
