Ilion - Mrs. Angela M. Verdura, 102, formerly of Prindle Apartments, 80 E. North St. passed away Saturday, July 7, 2012 in Mohawk Valley Health Care Center. She was born in Messina on June 13, 1910, the daughter of the late Dominick and Maria Marchetti and she attended Messina schools. She was married to Carl Verdura, Sr. on September 18, 1928 in Messina, NY. Carl passed away on August 4, 1980. Angela was in the Pricing Department for Addis Co., Syracuse for many years. Angela is survived by two sons and daughters in law, Louis and Laureen Verdura of Newington, CT, and Virgil and Clara Verdura of Frankfort; one granddaughter, Susan and her husband, Dr. James Rone of Murphysboro, TN and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one son, Carl Verdura, Jr. on April 23, 1997, two brothers, Joseph Marchetti and Dominick Marchetti and one sister, Frances Stabile. Her funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 in Assumption Cemetery, 2401 Court St., Syracuse with the Rev. Timothy Burns, officiating. Her funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the V.
