Frankfort - Mrs. Jane M. Zito, 90, of 310 First Ave. joined her beloved husband, Bennie Zito into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 with her adoring family by her side. She was born in Ilion, on June 4, 1922, the daughter of the late Frank and Jennie Calabelle DeJohn. She attended Frankfort schools and graduated from Frankfort High School with the class of 1939. Jane was married to her childhood sweetheart, Bennie P. Zito on June 12, 1943 in St. Mary's Church. Their marriage was blessed with four children who brought them great happiness. Bennie passed away on May 17, 1995 after 52 years of mutual love and respect. Jane and her husband Bennie were the owners and operators of the Zito Insurance Agency, Frankfort for many years until their retirement in 1981. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and a member of its Altar Rosary Society and the Young at Heart Senior Citizens. Jane will always be remembered for her loving and generous ways, her never-ending care and concern for her family and friends, touching their hearts and setting an example for all. She could win over anyone with her warm and gentle smile. Jane will be sadly missed by her family and is survived by one son, Paul F. Zito and his companion, Mary Jane Jones of Frankfort; three daughters and sons in law, Gloria and Anthony Partenza, Marilyn and Vincent Maneen and Linda and Alfred Amendolare, all of Frankfort; seven grandchildren, Paul Zito and his wife, Maria, Bianca and her husband, Patrick Irons, Brandon Partenza and his wife, Shannon, Jennifer and her husband, Dino Cencetti, Justin Maneen and his companion, Sara Bianco, Al Amendolare III and Ellice Amendolare; nine great-grandchildren, Elaina Zito, Julia Zito, Bella Zito, Lily Partenza, Noah Partenza, Ava Irons, Ethan Irons, Nathan Cencetti and Audrey Cencetti; her in laws, Grace Cardinal, Nina and Don Van Valkenburg, Rose Zito and Frances DeJohn; her special cousin and friend, Josephine "Pippy" Branck and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter in law, Elaine Zito on May 10, 1988, three sisters, Angela DeJohn, Marie and her husband, Ted Henrickson and Margaret and her husband, James Branck, two brothers, Francis "Bill" DeJohn and Joseph and his wife, Grace DeJohn and her in laws, Mary and her husband, Sam DiMartin and Jack Zito and his wife, Fanny Zito Tamburro, Frank and his wife, Mary Zito, Paul Zito and Angelo Cardinal. Her funeral will be held Saturday morning at 9:30 from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 10:00 in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by the Rev. Alfred Lamanna and assisted by Deacon James Bower. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday afternoon from 4:00 to 7:00 at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. Members of the Young at Heart Senior Citizens will meet Friday afternoon at 4:15 at the funeral home for services. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jane's memory may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care, 4277 Middle Settlement Rd, New Hartford, NY 13413, to the Frankfort Fire Dept. Ambulance, 158 Litchfield St, Frankfort, NY 13340 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Jane's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to her Hospice Team, Cheryl, Leigh, Ann, Linda, Donna and Jill for the wonderful care and compassion shown to her during her final days. Rest in peace Mom and know how deeply you have touched our lives. We will carry you and your love in our hearts forever.
