Obituary of Alexander J. Chard

Schuyler - Alexander J. Chard, 82, of 293 Bull Rd. went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, May 22, 2012 while he was surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Frankfort on May 11, 1930, the son of the late George F. and Josephine D. Forte Chard and he attended Frankfort schools, graduating from Frankfort High School with the class of 1948. Alex served with the US Navy during Korean Conflict with the Fighter Squadron 33 aboard the USS Hyman and was Honorably Discharged on August 29, 1950. Alex was a Tool and Die Maker for GE, Utica for many years until his retirement. Alex was gifted with many different construction skills and was always willing to help others. Alex was a Christian man; he loved the outdoors, and had a good sense of humor. He was a kind man, loving father and grandfather. His children and grandchildren meant the world to him. Alexander was an attending member of Valley Baptist Church of East Schuyler.
Alexander is survived by one son, Alexander Chard, of New Hampshire; one daughter and son in law, Georgianne C. and James A. Lambert of Whitesboro, his three beloved grandchildren, Danielle M. Maloney, Joshua A. Lambert and Andrew J. Lambert; one brother and sister in law, George and Rosalie Chard of Frankfort; his in laws, Salvatore "Sam" and Rose Servello of Herkimer and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his daughter, Josephine "Jody" Chard on February 18, 2009 and two sisters, Delores (Chard) Servello on July 16, 1987 and Phyllis (Chard) Farewege on December 24, 1996.
His funeral will be held Friday morning at 10:00 am in the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and will be celebrated by the Pastor Gerald Scott. Interment will be in West Schuyler Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, May 24 from 4-7 at V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc.
Alex's family would like to extend a special thank you his cousins Victor and Barbara Stucci of Schuyler, as well as Alex's recent and life-long neighbors who were always there to lend him a hand. Also, a special thank you to the nurses and staff of St. Elizabeth's Hospital.
