Obituary of Rosario C. Bonfardice

Frankfort - Mr. Rosario C. "Ron" Bonfardice, 93, of 419 Third Ave. Ext. passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2012 in Mohawk Valley Health Care Center with his family by his side. He was born in Frankfort on November 19, 1918, the son of the late John and Florence Laforte Bonfardeci and he was educated in Frankfort Schools. He was married to Clara Scerra on November 26, 1942 in St. Anthony's Church, Herkimer. Clara passed away on May 6, 2006. He served with the US Army during World War II with the 125th Army Air Force and was Honorably Discharged on February 6, 1946. Ron was employed as an Engineering Tech for GE, Utica until his retirement in 1982. He was also the owner and operator of Ron's Television and Radio Repair, Frankfort for 38 years. He was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church. Ron is survived by two sons and two daughters in law, John and Cynthia Bonfardice of Frankfort and Ronald and Colleen Bonfardice of Fultonville; one sister, Frances Ciola of Utica; two brothers and two sisters in law, Leo and Marie Bonfardeci of Frankfort and Anthony Bonfardeci of Ilion; his sister in law, Theresa Bonfardeci of Utica; one brother in law, Chester Scerra of Richfield Springs; his grandchildren, John Bonfardice, Jr. and his wife, April, Jaime and her husband, Michael Coulthurst and Nicolas Bonfardice; seven great grandchildren, Malik, Zyara, Lionell, Asia, Isabelle, Amber and Maddox and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, Thomas Bonfardeci. His funeral will be held Monday morning at 10:00 from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 10:30 in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial bill be celebrated by the Rev. Leo Potvin and assisted by Deacon James Bower. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 5-8 pm at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc.
