Frankfort - Mrs. Nancy C. Plano, 69, of 305 Railroad St. passed away Monday, April 16, 2012 in Mohawk Valley Health Care Center. Nancy was born in Ilion on December 14, 1942, the daughter of the late John and Catherine Castardi Verni. She attended Frankfort schools and graduated from Frankfort-Schuyler High school with the class of 1961. She later attended and graduated from St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing as an LPN. Nancy was married to her high school sweetheart, Jerome Michael Plano, Sr. on April 4, 1963 in St. Mary's Church. They were married until her beloved "Big Jerome's" passing on November 16, 2001. Nancy was employed as an LPN for several doctors' offices throughout the valley and lastly for Valley Health Services in Herkimer until her retirement in 2000. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church. Nancy is survived by two sons and daughters in law and two daughters and one son in law, Carlene and John Eastlund of Dunedin, FL Jerome M. Plano Jr and Michele C. Philipson of New Hartford, James and Renee Plano of Schuyler and AS1 Jacqueline Plano, serving with the US Navy in Norfolk, VA; two sisters in law, Marie Giardino and Flora Plano; five grandchildren, Shelly, Michael, Crystal, Andrew and Zoe and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one brother, John Verni on April 28, 1954. Her funeral will be held Monday morning at 10:00 AM from the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave., Frankfort and at 10:30 AM in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Leo Potvin and assisted by Deacon James Bower. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday, April 22 from 2-5 at V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc.
