New Hartford - Frankfort - Mrs. Josephine Castilla, 94, of The Meadows formerly of Ball Rd. Frankfort passed away Saturday, March 3, 2012 in Presbyterian Home Of CNY with her family by her side. She was born in Frankfort on October 30, 1917, the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Mary Cacciatore and she attended Frankfort schools. She was married to James A Castilla on July 29, 1950 in Frankfort United Methodist Church. James passed away on April 11, 1994. Josephine was employed as a Clerk for La Puma's Pharmacy, Frankfort for many years. She was a member of Frankfort United Methodist Church, The Red Hat Society at the Meadows and a life member of the Meadows Association. Josie will always be remembered as a loving and caring wife, daughter, mother, sister and a wonderful grandmother. She was a hard worker, wonderful care giver and good listener. She loved to bake especially cookies for her family and friends. Josephine is survived by one daughter and son in law, Naomi and Don Kelly of Old Forge; her daughter in law, Susan Castilla of Utica; her cherished grandchildren, Sarah Kelly, Katie Kelly, Brian Kelly, Andrew Castilla, Alexander Castilla, Margaret Kelly and Leigha Castilla; one sister, Angeline Fitzgerald of Glenfield; one brother in law, Carl Castilla of Frankfort; four special nieces, Lynn Angiulli, Mary Jo Burdick, Nancy Longo and Diane Castilla. She was predeceased by her son, James Castilla on December 25, 2010, two brothers, Philip Cacciatore and James Cacciatore and two sisters, Tina Cacciatore and Lily Gabryelski. Her funeral will be held Monday, March 12, 2012 at 1:00 PM in the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort with the Rev. James Ulrich, officiating. Interment will be in Oak View Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday morning from 11:00 - 1:00 at V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. Josie's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to her aide, Sophie and the nurses and staff of the Aspen Wing Presbyterian Home Of CNY for the wonderful care and kindness shown to her during her stay and passing.
