Mrs. Bess A. Eychner Herkimer - Mrs. Bess A. Eychner, 103, formerly of Midtown Apartments, Prospect St. passed away Sunday, February 26, 2012 in Mohawk Valley Health Care Center. She was born in Constableville on July 19, 1908, the daughter of the late Sherwood and Emma Jackson Clover and she attended Utica schools. She was married to Glenn Eychner on February 12, 1927 in Utica. Glenn passed away on May 26, 1978. Bess was a Manager for Brooks Fashion Stores, Rome from 1939 to 1959 and later for Goldberg's in the Credit Office until her retirement in 1970. She was of the Episcopal faith and a member of the Herkimer Senior Citizens and the Holly Chapter Eastern Star, Rome and served as Matron in 1948. Bess is survived by her nephews and niece, William Fennimore of Little Falls, Donna and her husband, Horace Daniels of Orlando, FL and Richard McClements and his fiancé, Charlene Brennan of Fort Washakie, WY; her special great niece, Shawn and her husband, Joseph Latella of Frankfort; her friend, Helen Donabedian of Boston, MA and several great nieces, great nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister, Louise McClements in 2006 and her brother, Sherwood Clover, Jr. in 1954. Her funeral will be held Thursday at 1:00 pm from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St., Herkimer with the Rev. Paul Bailey, rector of Christ Episcopal Church, officiating. Interment will be in Frankfort Hill Cemetery later in the spring. Calling hours will be Thursday morning from 11:00 am until the time of services at the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home.
