Ilion - Mrs. Pearl D. Pliszek, 88, of 65 Richfield St passed away peacefully Saturday, February 4, 2012 in her home. She was born in Herkimer on March 15, 1923, the daughter of the late Peter and Karolina Wiliczka. She attended Herkimer schools and graduated from Herkimer High School with the class of 1941. Pearl was united in marriage to Thomas A. Pliszek on May 4, 1946 in St. Joseph's Church, Herkimer. Thomas passed away on November 17, 2004. Pearl devoted many years working at Sperry Rand, GE, Salada and lastly by ICL. Pearl and her husband, Tom were the owners and operators of Little Tom's Tavern, King St., Herkimer for many years. She was a communicant of Sts. Anthony And Joseph Church and a member V.F.W Post #4915Aux., Herkimer. Pearl was a strong, beautiful and loving woman whose presence made life easier for everyone around her. She brought joy, laughter and happiness to so many lives. She was the heart of her family and her family was her heart. Pearl was a blessing and will be with us always and forever. Pearl is survived by one son & daughter in law, Thomas and Viola Pliszek of Ilion; one daughter and son in law, Patricia and Samuel Conde of Herkimer; two granddaughters, Jessica Conde and her friend, Brian Blackman and Stacey and her husband, Daniel Ziarno; two brothers, Stanley Wiliczka and William Wiliczka and several nieces, nephews and cousins Her funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 9:00 AM from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer and at 9:30 AM in Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Thomas Lawless. Spring interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 4-8 at Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home. Pearl's family would like to extend a special thank you to the healthcare providers, for their kindness and unwavering support for her during her remaining years. Thank you to her caregivers, Michelle Goodbread, Nancy Tretola and Stacie Shedd; the Masonic Home's Rehab Unit, Little Falls Hospital, Dr. Freund and the staff of the third floor east wing.
