Herkimer - Mrs. Ruth H. Miller, 95, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the Masonic Home.
She was born in Herkimer on January 31, 1916, the daughter of the late Beecher and Elsie Krause Hart and she attended Herkimer schools. She was married to Harry J. Miller Sr., on September 14, 1941 in St. John's Catholic Church, Newport. Mr. Miller passed away on November 11, 1984. Mrs. Miller was employed as the Clerk of the Board of Legislature of Herkimer County until her retirement on May 2, 1979. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and the East Herkimer Seniors.
Ruth is survived by her son & daughter in law, Harry & Sharon Miller of New York Mills; her cherished granddaughter, Katherine (Katie) Miller; one sister, Marjorie Lowther of Herkimer; two brothers & one sister in law, Ronald Hart of Auburn and Donald & Patricia Hart of Schenectady and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by three brothers, Beecher Hart Jr, Henry Hart and Robert Hart.
Her funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 12:30 from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St., Herkimer and at 1:00 in Christ Episcopal Church, N. Main St., Herkimer, where a Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated by the Father Paul Bailey. Spring interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4-7 at Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home.
