Obituary of Miss Madeleine A. Sabine

Herkimer - Miss Madeleine A. Sabine, 77, formerly of Galinski Apartments passed away Friday, January 13, 2012 in Valley Health Services. She was born in London, England, on July 28, 1934, the daughter of the late Albert and May Beatrice Sabine. Madeleine attended schools in London and as a young woman served as an Air Raid Warden During WWII. Shortly after the war the family relocated to the United States and she graduated from Richfield Springs High School with the class of 1953. She later attended and graduated from the Utica School of Commerce. Madeleine was employed in the Laundry Department for Folts Home, Herkimer for many years until her retirement in 1989. She was of the Episcopal faith. Madeleine is survived by her niece, Patricia Pansa of Utica; great nieces and nephews, Briana Pansa of Mohawk, Chris Platt and his wife, Melissa of Utica and Lisa and her husband Joseph Nimey of New Hartford. She was predeceased by one sister, Vera M. Pansa on August 11, 2003 and her nephew, Emil Pansa on February 20, 2004. Her funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:00 PM in Christ Episcopal Church, N. Main St., Herkimer, where a Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated by Father Paul Bailey. Spring interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours. Her funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S.
