Frankfort - Mrs. Kathryn Kilgress, 94, Formerly of First Ave., passed away Monday, October 24, 2011 in The Masonic Home. She was born in Schuyler on November 16, 1916, the daughter of the late Edward and Edna Francisco Walsh. She was a graduate of Frankfort schools and attended the Utica School of Commerce. She was married to John W. Kilgress on May 8, 1946 in Sts. Peter & Paul's Church. Mr. Kilgress passed away on June 6, 1989. Mrs. Kilgress was a Teller for Oneida National Bank, Frankfort, for many years. She was a member of The First Baptist Church of Herkimer. Kathryn's family was the most important part of her life and she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren immensely. Kathryn is survived by one daughter and son in law, Kay and Thomas LaPuma of Frankfort; her beloved grandchildren, Peter John and his wife, Kelly LaPuma, Mary Kay McGuire and Jacqueline and her husband, Stuart Klein; six cherished great-grandchildren, Brendan, Alyssa, Tommy, Rory, Abigail and Sophie and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brothers, Edward Walsh, Lyle Walsh, Lynn "Pop" Walsh, Maynard Walsh and Donald Walsh. Her funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 1:00 in the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave., Frankfort, with the Rev. Patti Lawrence, officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4-7 PM at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc.
