Frankfort - Mrs. Mary Acquaviva, 91, of 116 S. Frankfort St. passed away Friday, July 29, 2011 in the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on November 25, 1919, the daughter of the late John and Nora Lodato Riente and she attended Frankfort schools. She was married to Anthony J. Acquaviva on April 27, 1946 in St. Mary's Church. Mr. Acquaviva passed away on February 24, 1984. Mary was employed as an assembler for GE, Utica for many years until her retirement in 1975. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and a member of the Columbianna Society. Mary is survived by one daughter, Nora J. Acquaviva of Utica; one son and daughter in law, Anthony and Claudia Acquaviva of Ilion; one sister, Julie Lilli of Frankfort; her granddaughter, Alisa Marie and her husband, Shawn Petronella of Utica; one great grandson, Victor Petronella; her step grandchildren, Kimberly and her husband, Robert Cerra of NJ, Amy and her husband, Erik Schleicher of Spencerport and Alissa Grant of Whitesboro; her step great grandchildren, Alexa Jassak, Sydney Schleicher and Shea Schleicher; her sisters in law, Margaret Acquaviva of Fulton and Carol Acquaviva of Frankfort and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one brother, Anthony J. Riente and two sisters, Rose Sharrino and Carrie Sciortino. Her funeral will be held Monday morning at 10:00 from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave., Frankfort and at 10:30 in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the V.Rev. Anthony Barratt and assisted by Deacon James Bower. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 6-8 at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc.
