Schuyler - Mr. Robert E. Upson, 76, of Millers Grove Rd. passed away Friday, June 24, 2011 at his home following a long illness. Robert was born in Schuyler on December 10, 1934, the son of the late Elmer and Louise Weingate Upson. He attended Frankfort-Schuyler schools and graduated with the class of 1952. After high school, Robert served in the US Air Force from 1953 until his honorable discharge in 1957. He was married to Janice Ludwig on September 12, 1959 in St. Peter & Paul's Church in Frankfort. Mrs. Upson passed away on May 6, 2010. Mr. Upson worked as a self-employed Dairy Farmer at Upsland Farm in Schuyler and was a member of the Hollstein Association. Robert is survived by three sons, Ryan Upson and his companion, Michelle of Mohawk, Alan and Kim Upson of Schuyler, Ray Upson of Ilion; one sister, Ethel Brown of Frankfort; three brothers, Stuart and Sharon Upson of Schuyler, Roy and Cathy Upson of Mohawk and Glenn and Wendy Upson of SC; his special niece, Sue Brown; his brother in law, Larry Brown; his beloved grandchildren, Brandon Upson, Alyssa Upson, Daniel Upson, Jordan Upson and Olivia Naclerio. He was predeceased by one sister, Margie Upson and one brother, Raymond Upson. As per Robert's wishes, his funeral will be held privately at the convenience of his family. There will be no public calling hours. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave., Frankfort.
