I only knew George for a little over a year, but in that short time I found him to be one of the best people I have known. He will be sorely missed. I will especially miss how he used to call me "Tree Man" any time that I would run into him. My deepest sympathies to all of George's family.

I have known who George was for a long time, but I never really knew George until my sister ,Laura, wasill.George was such a good friend to her.During her illness night time was hard for her as she often had trouble getting to sleep.George would stop by on his way home from work and play cards and keep her company. She looked forward to his visits, and I was so greatful that he cared so much and was there for her.I will never forget the day that Laurie left us,I didn't want George to hear about her passing from somebody else or read about it in the paper so I went to tell him.He was so upset that he had not been there those last few days.He had been in the hospital himself, yet his concern had been that he wasn't there for her. That kind of compassion is a true indication of the type of person I will always remember as George.Even when I visited him at home during his illness,he mentioned that he wished he could have been there. My condolences to Georges family.I hope you find some comfort in the fact that his suffering has ended and he is with his sister and my sister and brother and all those good people that have gone too soon.
