Obituary of Amelia Amy Loiacano

Frankfort - Mrs. Amelia J. Loiacano, 89, formerly of First Ave. passed away, Thursday, January 12, 2017 in The Masonic Home with her family by her side.
She was born in Ilion on March 19, 1927, the daughter of the late Anthony and Angeline Cacciatore Papa. She attended Frankfort schools and graduated from Frankfort High School with the class of 1945. She later attended Syracuse Business School. Amy was married to Thomas Loiacano on December 7, 1947 in Frankfort. Thomas passed away on June 22, 2014. Amelia was a Bookkeeper for Cal Southwick Insurance, Ilion, until her retirement in 1989. She was a member of Morning Star United Methodist Church and served as the Choir Director, Church Treasurer for 45 years and United Methodist Women's Club. She was very active in fundraising for the church and was extremely instrumental in the building of the new church on Acme Rd.
Amelia is survived by one son and daughter in law, Dominick and Maureen Loiacano of Spring, TX; two daughters and sons in law, Deborah Lisandrelli and her companion, Thomas Schenkenberger of E. Syracuse and Judith and William Kennedy of Sandy Hook, CT; seven grandchildren, Scott Loiacano and his wife, Becca, Megan and her husband, Jedidiah Almond, Mark Loiacano and his wife, Danielle, Rocco Lisandrelli, Amy and her husband, Chris Noye, Shannon and her husband, Ryan Cove and Sean Kennedy; eleven great-grandchildren, Scott Loiacano, Joey Loiacano, Benjamin Almond, Hannah Almond, Laila Almond, Dominick Loiacano, Genevieve Loiacano, Brayden Noye, Carly Noye, Kennedy Cove and Evangeline Cove; her in laws, Mary Cushman and Beatrice and Joseph Tocco and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by three sisters, Mary Vivacqua, Catherine Cushman Gilman and Phyllis Keeley.
Her funeral will be held Sunday morning at 9:15 from the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 10:00 in Morning Star United Methodist Church, Acme Rd., Frankfort, where a funeral service will be celebrated by the Rev. Robert Wollaber. Spring interment will be in Oak View Cemetery. Calling hours will be Saturday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Morning Star United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
