My heartfelt condolences go out to the family of Sharry. I did not know her as intimately as some listed above but one thing I was able to detect very quickly; was that she was on point when it came to her job and most of all, how deeply she loved her family and how much she was loved by you all. I was unable to attend the calling hours as I received word of her passing while I was out of work attending to my own dear mother's funeral. I can understand how painful this process is for you all first hand. My prayers and thoughts are with you. May God comfort you at this time.

Dear Ed, Dakota, Patty and the whole Lester, Kilfoil, Ogozalek clan. Sharry was not only a special cousin, but a wonderful, kind, caring person that we will all miss. I will always remember the treasured times we spent at Gramma Jo's, the holiday get togethers, Sharry's wedding and the joys of the births of children and grandchildren and all their antics. My prayers and condolences are with you during these sorrowful times, but may the grace of God and the wonderful memories help ease your pain.

To Sharry's family: I worked with Sharry for several years in Herkimer, and we had lots of great times there (our Cut 'n Curl groups, Vanessa the Cat, the Opal II Newsletter, and so much more). Sharry played a big part in helping me to get this job, offering much encouragement and even a letter of recommendation. For that, I will forever be grateful to her. May God wrap her in his loving arms, and may you cherish all of the memories... God Bless.

To the Lester family,
My name is Marlo Dimeo. My father, Louis Parrotta worked with Sherry for years through Herkimer Outreach and I also did an internship under Sherry when i was in college. She was a wonderful lady and I am so sorry for your loss. My father passed away almost 3 years ago and it was so difficult. When i was doing my internship, all she ever talked about was how much she loved and adored her family. My prayers and with you and your family. God bless.

I was so saddened to hear of Sharry's passing. We attended high school together at Our Lady of Angels in St. Bernard. Though we hadn't been in touch in many years, I remember her as a lovely young woman with an easy, shy smile in high school. Please accept my deepest condolences and rest assurred that I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers.
I offer a prayer that I found comfort in at the passing of my older brother:
Do not stand at my grave and weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there. I do not die.

Additional Obit Info
Born February 11, 1950 in Hartford, CT, Sharry was the daughter of Henry F. and Cecilia Ogozalek Kilfoil. She spent most of her formative years in Cincinnati, Ohio. A graduate of MVCC, (RN) Utica College of Syracuse University with honors and New School for Social Research with a Masters in Health Service Management.
July 17, 1971, one of the happiest days of her life when she married her soul mate, her "poo," Edward L. Lester, Jr. in St. Stanislaus Church in Chicopee, MA. They were truly in love from the first day they met when Ed called across Thurston's Restaurant stating, "I want the one in purple." They have had a wonderful, compassionate relationship for .... years. They were seldom apart, a kind of relationship that others could observe and see how special they made each day for eachother.
Sharry had worked at Mohawk Valley Psychiatric Center for ...29 plus... years, most recently as Director of Community Services. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church in Frankfort and was associated with the Alliance for the Mentally Ill, past Board Member for the Alzheimer's Association, NY Professional Nurses Association, Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society and Nurse of Distinction, MVPC, 1995. She was a strong-natured, hard worker, willing to assist whenever and wherever needed.
She loved to do her crafts, specifically noted for the beautiful baby robes that she would make for newborns. Her house was a haven for a Teddy Bear in need; reaching into each room, a colllector for years.
Always close to her were the memories of her father, Henry, who preceeded her on March 18, 2010 and her loving big brother, Dr. Barry M. Kilfoil, DDS on August 28, 2010.
Her greatest joy in life was her family. She is survived by her husband, Ed; her two beautiful, talented children, Heather Marie Lester of Frankfort, NY and Christopher F. Lester and his wife Carin of Seattle, Washington; and her three remarkable grandchildren, the pride and joy of her life. She always felt blessed that God created the rold of the grandmother, one that she cherished. Dakota Lester, who made every day special and kept his "grandma" in line, Ryleigh and Evan Lester who kept her young with that sweet little twinkle of innocence. Denise Dadarrio, whom she considered her second daughter; her sister and brother in law, Patricia and Steve Wietlisbach of Fayetteville, NY; sister in law, Denise Kilfoil of Cary, North Carolina; a very special Aunt, Mary Irene Sopelak and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and cousins.
The Lester family will remember the supportive friendship of Diane and Ron Rashford, Doris Bolanowski, Louie and RayAnn Netarie, the Friday night gang.
A special thank you to Dr. Sikder, Dr. Lawrence, Dr. Sharma, Dr. Talarico and Dr. Berg along with their staff who always made her feel special. To the many friends at MVPC, thank you, it was a spectacular experience. God bless you all, angels do live on earth.
