Mohawk - Mrs. Marie Rose Duesler, 91, of State Route 168, passed away Friday, February 4, 2011 in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital. Marie was born in Utica on October 31, 1919, the daughter of the late Anthony and Louise Denauro Sestito and she attended Mohawk schools. She was at one time married to Leon Duesler, Jr. Mrs. Duesler was employed as a packer for Remington Arms, Ilion, for many years until her retirement in 1982. She was at one time employed with Gordon's Dress Factory. Along with her husband, she also owned and operated Duesler's General Store on Creek Rd. throughout the 1960's and 70's, as well as several trailer parks in the area. She was an avid bingo player and liked slot machines. She loved casinos, especially Atlantic City, Fox Woods and Turning Stone. Marie is survived by Leon; her daughters, Kathleen L. Riedhamer of Niskayuna and Cynthia L. Duesler and her Life Partner, Colleen Graziadei of Frankfort; one son and daugher in law, Mark W. and Victoria Duesler of Mohawk; one sister, Helen White of Ilion; her beloved grandchildren, Kristy L. Riedhamer of Albany, Joseph A. Riedhamer and his wife, Rosemary of Johnstown, Nicole M. Duesler and her companion, Vincent Tolino of Mohawk and Anthony J. Duesler and his companion, Kamica Barnett of Utica; her good friends, Jill Gaspa and Glenny Monahan who were always there for her and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Sestito; her sister, Rita Vedder, and her son in law, Joseph Riedhamer. Her funeral services will be held at the convenience of her family from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St., Herkimer. There will be no public calling hours.
