Frankfort/Utica - Mrs. Jane L. Nardi, 85, of 1223 Crestview Dr., Utica, formerly of Kernan Ave., Frankfort, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2011 in the Presbyterian Home of CNY.
Jane was born in Frankfort on May 29, 1925, the son of the late Patsy and Mayme Frank Aversa and she attended Frankfort schools. She was married to Paul P. Nardi on November 4, 1944 in St. Mary's Church, Frankfort. Mr. Nardi passed away on July 11, 1989. Mrs. Nardi was a Sales Clerk for Nichols Department Store, Herkimer, for many years. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and a member of American Legion Post #845 Aux., St. Francis Di Paolo Society Aux. and the Red Hat Society.
Jane is survived by one daughter and son in law, Mary and Hank Warshal of Frankfort; one son, Richard Nardi of Utica; her daughter in law, Sally Nardi of Margate, FL; her grandchildren, Joy and her husband, Gene Rankins, Marsha and her husband, Chris Montgomery, Patrick Nardi and Andrea Nardi; her great grandchildren, Nicolas Rankins, T.J. Rankins, Joshua Montgomery, Noah Montgomery and Julia Montgomery; two sisters in law, Ida Aversa and Kay Aversa, both of Frankfort and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two sons, Paul Nardi on June 1, 1985 and Joseph Nardi on June 11, 2006 and two brothers, Patsy Aversa on October 3, 1973 and Joseph Aversa, Sr. on March 31, 1998.
Her funeral will be held Friday morning at 10:00 from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave., Frankfort and at 10:30 in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Leo Potvin and assisted by Deacon James Bower. Spring interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4-8 at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. Members of the American Legion Aux. will meet at the funeral home Thursday afternoon at 4:30 for services.
Jane's family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff of the Presbyterian Home's Willow Unit for the wonderful care and kindness shown to her during her stay and passing.
