Frankfort - Mr. Michael F. Ciallelo, 86, of 120 Sheldon Ave. passed away Monday, December 20, 2010 in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Frankfort on July 26, 1924, the son of the late Michael and Lucy De Palma Ciallelo and he attended Frankfort schools. He served with the US Army during World War II with the Battery D 2nd Artillery Battalion. He was married to Rose Caracane on October 5, 1946 in St. Anthony's Church, Herkimer. Mrs. Ciallelo passed away on August 2, 1984. Mr. Ciallelo was employed as an Assembler for Univac in both the Ilion & Utica Plants for 31 years until his retirement, January 3, 1976. He was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, a member of the American Legion Post #845 and the Ilion Moose Lodge #1010. Mike was an avid bingo player and a New York Giants and Yankees fan.
Michael is survived by one son and daughter in law, Michael and Judy Ciallelo of Frankfort; one daughter and son in law, Lucille and Steven Martin of Frankfort; his grandchildren, Brandon and his wife, Molly Ciallelo, Steven Jr. and his wife, Sara Martin, Nicole and her husband, Fred Castronovo, Jessica and her husband, Chris Fay, Shawn Ciallelo, Jamie Martin and his fiancé, Rebecca Baldwin and Chad Ciallelo; his great grandson, Cade Ciallelo; Mike's constant companion of 21 years, Yolanda Tripple of Frankfort; his in laws, Angie and Robert De Paul of Vernon and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by three sisters; Rose Campione, Mary Bernadine and Pasquelina Purpura and one brother, Pvt. John Ciallelo US Army KIA WWII.
His funeral will be held Thursday morning at 10:00 AM from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave., Frankfort and at 10:30 AM in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Leo Potvin and assisted by Deacon James Bower. Spring interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery with full military honors. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5-9 at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc.
