Frankfort - Mrs. Susan M. Tocco, 61, of 116 Libritz Dr., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 in her home with her loving family and friends by her side following a courageous battle with cancer.
Sue was born in Ilion on August 31, 1949, the daughter of the late Frank D. and Florence Galvano Frank. She attended Frankfort schools and graduated from Frankfort Schuyler High School with the class of 1967. She later attended Fulton Montgomery Community College. Sue was married to Joseph Tocco on April 15, 1972 in St. Mary's Church. Mrs. Tocco was employed as the Guidance Department Secretary for Frankfort Schuyler Central School District, Frankfort until her retirement in 2004 after 35 years of service. She later worked part-time at Melrose Supermarket. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and a member of the Addolorata Society. Her greatest joy in life was her family. Sue was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Sue was always baking and cooking for her family, especially during the holidays. Her life revolved around taking care of her family. She always put everyone else ahead of herself. Those who knew her loved her for she was small in stature but big in heart.
Susan is survived by her beloved husband of 38 years, Joe; one daughter and son in law, Jodi and Patrick Doolen of Frankfort; her cherished grandchildren, Patrick, Joseph, and Kayla Doolen; two brothers, George Frank of Frankfort and Francis Frank of Ilion; her aunt, Josephine "Jopa" Palmieri of Frankfort; her in laws, Salvatore and Rosalia Tocco of Hopkinton, MA and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Joseph S. Tocco on August 29, 2003 and her father in law and mother in law, Sam and Sadie Tocco.
Her funeral will be held Friday morning at 10:30 AM in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, S. Frankfort St., Frankfort, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Leo Potvin and assisted by Deacon James Bower. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours. Sue's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. Butala and staff for the wonderful care shown to her during her illness. Her funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave., Frankfort.
